Design of Optical System for Ultra-Wide Angle, Low Distortion and High Resolution Dual-Mode Imaging Camera

A 2 k × 2 k high resolution. Camera optical system is designed to meet the requirements of high precision positioning measurement and wide Angle surveillance on spacecraft. According to the application requirements, the technical specifications are determined, and based on passive optical athermalisation, the optical system can adapt to the harsh working temperature of −40 °C ~ +55 °C. By using aspherical surface and specific optical structure, the distortion in 73° measurement field of view is better than 0.8%, and in 114° monitoring field of view is better than 5%. The technical indicators of the optical system are the working distance of 0.25–0.75 m, the field of view of 92.78° × 92.78° (circular field of view of 114°), the focal length of 5.4 mm, the spectral range of 420–700 nm, the relative aperture of 1/5, and the modulation transfer function (MTF) value of the system at the spatial frequency of 91 lp/mm is greater than 0.5.
