Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) models—more specifically text-to-image generation models, can serve as creative tools in the conceptual phase of the architectural design process, assisting in the generation of visual references and the communication of ideas. This support can be beneficial in academic contexts, where architecture students are in a phase of conceptual learning and the formation of their foundational design references. The conceptual phase is also responsible for key decision-making that influences the creation of the architectural design, including aspects related to sustainability. In this context, this study presents a theoretical proposal for a hybrid design process that combines the use of a GenAI text-to-image model—currently integrated within ChatGPT 4o—with an analog tool—Analog Tool for Bioclimatic Architecture (ATBA)—developed to guide the analysis, synthesis (generation), and evaluation of images in a way oriented toward sustainable architecture (bioclimatic characteristics and strategies for residential dwellings). Preliminary research findings indicate that the hybrid design process can stimulate creativity and innovation in academic contexts by articulating fundamental bioclimatic references with generative conceptual explorations aimed at the design of architectural projects aligned with the principles of environmental sustainability.

摘要
