The Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach has been extensively adopted across software engineering, aerospace, and other sectors for engineering design tasks. The modern power plant should also actively explore MBSE to enhance its design paradigm. This paper introduces a SysML-based method for organizing modern power plant engineering design information. The paper systematically reviews the current unstructured forms of modern power plant design information and proposes SysML model-based modes for various design documents. It details the methods for structuring modern power plant design information with SysML and outlines the necessary preparatory work for modern power plant design modeling using SysML.
