High-altitude permafrost presents significant engineering challenges due to its poor thermal stability, thick underground ice layers, high ice content, and strong sensitivity to climate change. These characteristics lead to common issues such as frost heave and thaw settlement in foundations. This paper analyzes the distribution and characteristics of permafrost along the route of a transmission line project, proposes foundation design requirements, and discusses anti-frost heave measures and environmental protection strategies. The findings have been validated through engineering practice and can be fully applied to the permafrost region route.

摘要

High-altitude permafrost presents significant engineering challenges due to its poor thermal stability, thick underground ice layers, high ice content, and strong sensitivity to climate change. These characteristics lead to common issues such as frost heave and thaw settlement in foundations. This paper analyzes the distribution and characteristics of permafrost along the route of a transmission line project, proposes foundation design requirements, and discusses anti-frost heave measures and environmental protection strategies. The findings have been validated through engineering practice and can be fully applied to the permafrost region route.
