Language in the Era of Generative AI: Insights from Large Language Models
摘要
This chapter examines generative AI and large language models (LLMs) through the lens of symbol emergence systems. While LLMs exhibit emergent semantic structures via distributional semantics, the author argues that genuine grounding requires embodied interaction. By advocating a usage-based model of meaning, the chapter suggests that multimodal AI can integrate relational and experiential semantics.
