Soft tissue grafts are commonly used in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. However, a significant drawback is the delayed osteointegration and ligamentization of the implanted graft. Enhancing the graft by enveloping its ends with periosteum sleeves can accelerate osteointegration, facilitating faster rehabilitation. This article presents a novel and straightforward technique to augment soft tissue grafts with periosteum, optimizing outcomes in ACL reconstruction.

摘要

Soft tissue grafts are commonly used in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. However, a significant drawback is the delayed osteointegration and ligamentization of the implanted graft. Enhancing the graft by enveloping its ends with periosteum sleeves can accelerate osteointegration, facilitating faster rehabilitation. This article presents a novel and straightforward technique to augment soft tissue grafts with periosteum, optimizing outcomes in ACL reconstruction.
