摘要

In this chapter, a simple mathematical description ofH concentration hydrogen (H) concentrationConcentration in a metal is given with the separation of dissolved and trapped HTrapped H for easy understanding of experimental observation of H absorptionAbsorption, desorptionDesorption, diffusion, solutionSolution, trappingTrapping and permeationPermeation. At first H distribution in a metal equilibrated with hydrogen atmosphere is schematically drawn. Afterwards, H distribution in non-equilibrium, i.e. under the existence of gradients in H chemical potentialChemical potential or fugacityFugacity in the metal, in other words, under H loadingH loading or desorbing processes, are schematically drawn. In addition, H distribution on metal surfaces is separately introduced.
