AD helps visually impaired and blind individuals access imagery. Using succinct, vivid, and imaginative language, AD provides descriptions of actions, body language, facial expressions, scenery, and costumes for those in need (Benecke 2004; Snyder 2014). AD can also be applied to visual arts such as paintings, sculptures, sporting events, and daily life orientation tools (Cavallo 2015). It facilitates the social integration of individuals in disadvantaged groups by enabling them to fully participate in a culture heavily based on audiovisual entertainment (Udo and Fels 2009). However, the development of AD is uneven across countries and regions. Therefore, a comparison of the AD scripts produced in different regions for the same film is believed to be meaningful. Such comparison facilitates mutual learning and may help address disparities in the quality and availability of AD products across various regions.
