Identification of Mirror Neuron Cells Using Imaging Approaches
摘要
Scientists were not searching for these neurons while carrying out research but found them. These neurons fire while we do an action and while we see it done. This goes against the motor behavior principles of behaviorism. The science they helped discover was at the start of a revolution. Better pictures have told us how mirror neuron cells (MNCs) work. However, there is still disagreement about where we can find the cells and how dense they are. This write-up reviews the history of mirror neuron research, its important turning points, and the new findings from imaging studies. The authors explain how their findings can be taken into account for research in cognition, empathy, motor learning, and future scope of study. Although they were discovered by accident, they have had a major impact on neuroscience.
