The Origin of the Rice Culture
摘要
Research on the origin of agriculture needs to deal with three questions: the place, the time, and the driving forces of the origin. It is generally acknowledged that agriculture, characterized by cultivated plants, has a diverse origin and showcases the characteristics of human ecological niche construction in hunting and gathering societies. Various regions chose various plants as cultivation crops that were people’s favorite, had high yields, and could supplement seasonal deficiencies in food.
