The gaming industry is sometimes perceived as predominantly masculine. Not alone due to the predominance of male gamers, but also because of the frequent portrayal of women as sexualized objects within games. In Indonesia’s gaming business, the predominant worker demographic is male, comprising 79% of the workforce. However, some gaming firms are led by female CEOs and founders. This article presents findings from a survey of 34 female employees and interviews with 5 women employees and 3 CEOs in Indonesian gaming companies. This study primarily investigates the influence of technomasculine stereotypes on the sector and the transformation of women’s roles within it. This study examines the role of women in combating discrimination and inequitable career trajectories within this business. This article asserts that women’s roles are crucial to the advancement of the industry in Indonesia. Women are catalysts for altering the perception of excessively technomasculine games. Women contribute to the supply chain in this business, particularly within the workforce and entrepreneurial sectors of the arts. Nonetheless, concerns persist, particularly about the sustainability of women’s non-prolonged participation in this profession.
