Effects of Electrical Discharge Parameters on a Plasma Jet’s Characteristics
摘要
A plasma jet has been created in argon gas, flowing in a homemade plasma jet reactor equipped with two coplanar electrodes. The effects of the variation of the distance between the electrodes and the applied high voltage on the length of the plasma jet have been studied. It appears that the variation of the distance between the electrodes, the applied high voltage and the flow of the gas used to generate the plasma jet, has significant effects on the length of the plasma jet and on the ionization of the used gas. An increase in the applied high voltage induces an increase in the plasma jet length and more extensive ionization of the argon atoms, while an increase in the distance between the two electrodes beyond a certain value, leads to a decrease in these two parameters.
