Irrigation stands as the primary user of water resources in the majority of the world’s countries. This implies that enhancements are necessary in the irrigation sector to preserve this vital resource. The irrigation water requirement is essentially the amount of water needed to make up for the loss due to evapotranspiration. Penman-Monteith equation is the standard formula for calculating evapotranspiration; however it depends on a number of variables that are frequently unavailable. As a result, there is a shift towards utilizing behavior model estimation. System identification emerges as a promising approach in this regard. The goal of this proposal is to estimate reference evapotranspiration (ET0) model using a nonlinear ARX method with only four climatic parameters as inputs, and ET0 calculated using the experimental station data by applying the standard equation as output. The system is implemented using Matlab 2024 simulator, and the results are satisfactory.

摘要
