Cancer has been the second leading cause of mortality, which prompted researchers to develop advanced techniques in diagnostic imaging to manage the diagnostic and therapeutic treatment of cancer patients. Various nanoimaging and therapeutics approaches have been applied to diagnose and treat cancer at an early stage. Especially, silica, gold, and lipid nanoparticles-based medicines have gained tremendous attention for localized diagnosis and the treatment of cancer. However, reproducibility, batch-to-batch variability, scalability, colloidal stability, storage stability, etc., are still being questioned. Herein, we have discussed various modalities in nanoparticle-based imaging and synergistic therapeutics for cancer diagnosis and therapy.

摘要
