Digital technology plays an indispensable role in the preservation and transmission of intangible cultural heritage. However, its full potential has yet to be realized. With the advancement of information technology, the significance of digital technology in the protection, preservation, and promotion of intangible cultural heritage is set to increase exponentially. Given the unique characteristics of intangible cultural heritage—such as its dynamic nature characterized by ongoing inheritance and evolution, its traditional roots deeply intertwined with specific cultural origins and local contexts, and its broad scope encompassing both ecological and cultural dimensions—conventional digitization practices may inadvertently neglect the cultural spatial characteristics vital to its vitality.
