Values
摘要
Although values can change, they tend to do so more slowly than other elements of a culture. In England, values expressing choice and freedom can be discerned for at least 800 years, while in Japan values such as preserving memories can be traced for over 1000 years. Certain core values may be better markers of ethnic identity than some other features of a culture because most people recognise the importance of those values and attempt to live up to them most of the time.
