The Role of Xylanase in Agriculture and Animal Feed
摘要
Xylanase plays a crucial role in enhancing nutritional values in agriculture and animal feeds. This enzyme has hydrolytic activities, cleave β-1, 4, a vital component of plant cell wall polysaccharide Xylan. It breaks down Xylan to xylo-oligosaccharides and releases sugars and nutrients used for digestibility in animals and poultry. and is being applied in a wide range of areas, including baking food, animal feed, beverages, oil, solvents, chemicals, paper, and industrial biofuels. It reduces viscosity in the digestive tract and helps feed efficiency. Xylanase provides anti-nutritional effects on various non-starch polysaccharides, enhancing a balanced digestive system in animals. In most of the feeds of animals and industrial products such as chemicals, fuels, textiles, bleaching of cellulose pulp, solvents, alcohols, oils, sugar, and organic acids xylanase has been added for several decades. Significantly, xylose from biomass is being used in bio-based commercial products. Hence, the use of xylanases would greatly enhance the overall economic materials and help on sustainability of agriculture through processing lignocellulosic for the generation of liquid fuels and chemicals. Consequently, biowastes such as sugarcane and corn substrates can be efficiently valorized for biofuel production, and used an alternative transportation fuel from renewable energy sources, so that to deprive the petroleum-derived fuel challenges.
