In random vibration analysis, we are interested in the response of a dynamic system subject to random excitations or due to the influence of uncertain random parameters. In this chapter, we briefly discuss the response process as another example of stochastic processes. In particular, we adopt the view of the response as a transformation of random inputs. The concept and method of random variable transformation and stochastic processes can be readily seen as the statistical foundation of random vibration.

摘要
