Real-Time Monitoring and Alert System for Hikers Using IoT Technology
摘要
Real-time monitoring and alert system are a technological framework designed to continuously observe, track, and analyze data or activities in real-time, triggering alerts when certain predefined conditions or thresholds are met. It has been applied to in sport activities such as hiking to improve hiker’s safety via peer-to-peer connection technology. Therefore, a project-based research is developed to monitor or track the hiker’s location and also update their condition. Common causes of accidents include altitude sickness, missing persons, and unintended falls. This project is used ESP32 and Arduino Uno as microcontrollers and LoRa as a peer-to-peer connection. A heartbeat and temperature sensor are used to assess the hiker’s condition. This project also makes use of the modernize library, which makes it suitable for usage with any microcontroller. The system design to reduces the search area while preserving up-to-date information on hiking conditions. The data can be presented to the receiver, who can then provide information about the victim’s locations.
