This chapter introduces Bakhtin’s dialogism as the theoretical and analytical framework of the study. It starts with a discussion on how “dialogism” facilitates our understanding of feedback as external (e.g., over, interpersonal) and internal (e.g., invisible, intrapersonal, between the word/discourse and the object) dialogues. Then this chapter elaborates on the key theoretical constructs of dialogism: heteroglossia, voice and speaking person, and chronotope. What followes is a detailed explanation of how these theoretical constructs are relevant to the current study and, based on which, a dialogic framework is constructed to refine the research design.

摘要
