As the accelerated development of AI technology and industry of China, the AI governance system and mechanisms of China are also gradually taking form in past several years. This chapter primarily introduces the historical evolution and current characteristics of China's AI governance approach. China not only released ethical guidelines and norms for AI, but also has established a series of standards and laws to enforce these guidelines and principles. All these represent general governance efforts covering different domains and mechanisms of AI governance. Based on the content analysis of the 39 policy documents issued by China, the chapter concluded the characteristics of AI governance of China from the policy process theory perspective which includes three stages like policy problem definition, policy tools, and policy implementation. The chapter is concluded by three proposals concerning the future reforms that China need in the near future.
