Identifying Key Causes of River Pollution Through Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling
摘要
Water is an essential component for the sustenance of all living organisms. However, the quality of water is progressively deteriorating on a daily basis. A significant proportion exceeding 70% of the nation’s liquid fresh water is rendered unsuitable for human consumption. Therefore, it may be said that the present condition of human existence, namely in terms of water accessibility, is precarious. India is not the only country grappling with this problem; other countries also have similar challenges. The phenomenon under consideration has a significant influence on the global aquatic systems, including oceans, rivers, lakes, and potable water sources. Consequently, the use of this phenomenon has detrimental consequences for both the ecological system and the overall physical and mental welfare of human beings. Sewage discharge, industrial effluents, and agricultural runoff are just a few examples of the many pollution sources that have been the subject of extensive study. The study’s overarching objective is to provide a comprehensive account of water contamination by investigating its many causes. Water pollution is prevalent in the area under consideration, owing mostly to causes such as overcrowding, agricultural operations, soil erosion, industrialization, and urbanization.
