A Comprehensive Investigation of Soil Variation Along the Yamuna Expressway in Gautam Buddh Nagar: Impact of Urbanisation on Soil Health
摘要
Soil, a vital constituent of the Earth's topmost layer, acts as a base for ecosystems and is crucial to the life-sustaining system. This study examines the impact of growing urbanisation on soil quality along the Yamuna Expressway in Gautam Budh Nagar. The process of urbanisation has caused substantial alterations in land utilisation, resulting in notable effects on soil characteristics within this area. The study centres on examining soil samples obtained from different locations along the expressway to evaluate alterations in physical and chemical properties. Both field and laboratory analyses are conducted on samples to comprehend the fluctuations in soil health resulting from urban growth. It utilises a holistic methodology, encompassing on-site observations and laboratory examinations, to assess alterations in soil composition, nutrient concentration, and degrees of pollution. The research seeks to discover differences and evaluate the impact of urbanisation on soil quality by comparing results obtained in both field and laboratory conditions. The results offer valuable perspectives on the effects of urban growth on soil quality and contribute to the enhancement of land management techniques. This study emphasises the significance of monitoring soil quality in rapidly urbanising regions to avoid negative impacts and promote sustainable progress.
