The use of algae in green cities can contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Algae provide sustainable sources of food, energy, and other products, making a valuable contribution towards several SDGs, including zero hunger, affordable and clean energy access, industry innovation development, infrastructure building, and supporting sustainable cities and communities. Algae can play an invaluable role in supporting sustainable industry and infrastructure development, increasing food security, providing affordable clean energy sources, and mitigating urban environmental impacts. In this paper, it is highlighted as an eco-friendly solution that meets multiple Sustainable Development Goals in green cities.
