Classification of the Wound and Their Nature
摘要
A wound arises from the damage to biological tissues, such as the skin, mucous membranes, and organs. Wounds can result from a variety of injuries; therefore, to prevent infections and further harm, the wounds should be cleaned and dressed properly. Wound classification is an essential step for wound diagnosis that is exceptionally vital for clinicians for planning the appropriate treatment strategies. Considering the importance of types of wounds, these wounds are categorized into different classes. Due to the unique nature, structure, and pathophysiology of each type of wound, the treatment plan designed for one wound cannot be used for another. This present chapter is composed to classify them into multiple groups, including pressure, diabetic, venous and surgical ulcers. Wounds can primarily be considered as acute and chronic types. Acute and chronic wounds are challenges in healthcare frameworks all over the world and affect many people’s lives every year. Compared to acute wounds, which heal in a balanced measure and brief amount of time, chronic wounds require a long time to restore. This write-up would be a significant part of information for tissue engineers to design specific substitute for individual type of wound which might help for innovating proper treatment strategies.
