Wound healing is a dynamic and intricate process involving a precisely coordinated sequence of cellular, molecular, and biochemical events that interact to facilitate tissue repair. A significant challenge in wound treatment is delayed closure. Therapeutic strategies to accelerate the healing process are critical for effective clinical management. This study provides an overview of wound healing, focusing on conventional treatments such as hydrogels enriched with antimicrobial peptides, resulting in a combinational therapy that has a high potential for wound healing. It further explores combination therapies, which add antimicrobial agents to drug delivery systems. Advanced hydrogel technologies are also examined, including responsive hydrogels, targeted therapeutic applications, and 3D-printed hydrogels. The study also addresses this field's challenges and future directions, detailing technical obstacles, regulatory considerations, and the approval processes involved with regulatory agencies.

摘要
