The concept of “biomedical packaging” describes systems and materials used to contain, protect and preserve pharmaceuticals, biologics and medical devices while they are being used, stored and transported. In this chapter, the focus is on the most important polymer composites that have gained popularity in biomedical packaging in recent years due to their beneficial features, including their mechanical strength, light weight and flexibility for customization. There are many polymer composites: used in biomedical packaging like epoxy-based, polylactic Acid (PLA), polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) composites. These materials are perfect for medical applications as they can be tailored for improved performance and special biocompatibility.

摘要
