In distributed agile software development (DASD), where the teams are distributed geographically and they follow agile principles for faster development, the effective teamwork is necessary for success. Trust is one of the key features of teamwork. Trust among team members in DASD is crucial for promoting collaboration and self-organization in agile teams. However, factors such as cultural differences, absence of face-to-face interactions, time zone challenges, and inadequate communication weaken the unity of DASD teams, making it difficult to establish mutual trust. This study explores the importance of trust in distributed agile teams and presents the current challenges. The work proposes a social network analysis framework for measuring and building trust among distributed agile teams based on team interactions.
