This chapter is aimed at Class IV, the sub-Class IVa, of Yang’s new classification, that is, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) diseases where the joint is non-salvageable. Whether the condylar primary lesion extends downward or the mandibular lesion invades upward, it will result in a TMJ and mandibular defect, the reconstruction of which is a formidable challenge in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
