Jingyang Village in Xianan Township, Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County, Guangxi, has the typical characteristics of a deeply impoverished village in the stony desertification area of Yunnan, Guangxi, and Guizhou provinces. Since 1980s, the local government and people have struggled against poverty, and gradually explored a path combining the poverty alleviation and development and the relocation of poor people. The people of Jingyang Village have actively participated in all stages of relocation and have seen remarkable changes in their production and living conditions. However, many of them have not been cut off from their homeland. While implementing the relocation, the officials and people of Jingyang Village and the supporting organizations have made use of the advantages of mountainous resources to develop the unique under-forest hog breeding industry, which has become an effective way to transform the industry of Jingyang Village and formed a new breeding industry epitomizing “one village, one product”. In the face of some limitations of under-forest farming, the officials of the “two committees (Villagers’ committee and the village’s Party committee. – Trans.)” of Jingyang Village also explored the development of rural leisure tourism, so that the “stone mountain” becomes “gold mountain”, thus enabling Jingyang Village to achieve a leap from poverty eradication to prosperity. The story of Jingyang Village is a microcosm of thousands of poverty-stricken mountain villages in China that get rid of poverty and develop toward revitalization.

摘要
