The potential of dermoscopy for assessing skin lesions associated with AI- CTDs remains unexplored. Within this chapter, the dermoscopic aspects of connective tissue disorders are elaborated upon and categorized into sections covering inflammoscopy, trichoscopy, and nailfold capillaroscopy. Some indicators are useful not only for diagnosis but also for monitoring the therapeutic response such as reduction in follicular keratotic plugs in chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus after treatment. Trichoscopic abnormalities may be present in connective tissue disease patients even in the absence of visible clinical signs, where trichoscopy helps in early diagnosis. Nailfold capillaroscopy is useful in evaluating the severity and prognosis of AI- CTDs especially systemic sclerosis. This chapter contributes to the existing knowledge and anticipates that further studies will yield more valuable insights in the dermoscopy of cutaneous lesions of connective tissue disease.
