Bridging Realities: An Educational Game for Improving Social Skills in ASD Children with Immersive Technologies
摘要
Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) may have difficulty in acquiring social interaction skills. This study addresses this problem by researching the building of an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) Role-Playing Game (RPG) complete with NPC AI to offer a safe and regulated setting for practicing social interactions. The research will explore the usefulness of this VR RPG in not just increasing these social skills inside the VR environment but also evaluating if these taught talents may apply to real-world circumstances. To do this, researchers will construct the VR RPG with focused social interaction situations particularly suited for ASD. By adding pilot testing to further enhance the VR RPG and data gathering methods. Ultimately, this study has the potential to generate a beneficial VR tool for therapists and educators working with children with ASD, while also delivering vital information to drive the design of future AI-powered therapies for social skills development.
