The rapid obsolescence of electronic devices has led to a growing e-waste crisis, which poses significant both the environment and human health. This chapter examines current e-waste management practices, including recycling, landfilling, refurbishment, and extended producer responsibility (EPR) initiatives, assessing their effectiveness in minimizing environmental impact and promoting resource recovery. It highlights challenges faced by policymakers, producers, recyclers, and workers primarily in emerging countries are uncovered, in developing countries, in this chapter we primarily focuses on the status of e-waste in India. The chapter emphasizes the importance of sustainable e-waste management through responsible recycling methods, such as artificial intelligence (AI) sorting & automated disassembly, and advocates for a circular economy. This needs strong laws and regulations, international cooperation and public involvement in e-waste disposal, and concrete recommendations are given for future improvements.
