This article explores the subject of how new digital technologies can foster ergonomics activities and interactions between designers and operators. As an example, the case of Design Reviews (DR) sessions held in oil platform design processes is presented. The study discusses the participation of researchers as members of the ergonomics team for the detailing project of 5 platforms, whose projects were developed using a 3D model and included several DR events. From the data gathered in these projects, the researchers identified features that had the potential of favoring or limiting participation and discussions about the work to be carried out in the situations under development. These points include aspects related to the establishment of ergonomics as a design team, the characteristics of the 3D model, and the organization of DR events, among others. Furthermore, the research highlights the creation of a specific ergonomics DR event based on the operational experience of the operators, focusing on the positioning of valves and instruments.
