Fake Feedback for Increasing Self-perceptions of Altruism and Sympathy to Promoting Pro-environmental Behavior
摘要
It is believed that people need to implement more pro-environmental behaviors (PEB) to protect the global environment. However, it is also known that even if people are aware of the necessity and importance of addressing environmental issues, it is difficult for them to implement PEB. Therefore, it is important to promote people’s PEB through interventions. In this study, for promoting PEB, we proposed an intervention to increase self-perceptions of sympathy and altruism by using fake feedback and conducted an evaluation experiment. Intervention designed in this study includes two types of personality-check style questionnaire: one using personality ratings from a close friend, and the other using a behavior choice quiz designed to make people naturally choose kinder behavior. The results indicated the intervention method needs further improvement, especially for empathy, because the participants were not sufficiently convinced of the evaluation, but the method of using false feedback itself is considered feasible.
