Decentralized Electronic Health Records Management System
摘要
Today’s technology and health care sectors are moving towards more unison than ever before. It is thus necessary to have trustworthy, secure, and effective health record management systems. This paper proposes innovative technologies for electronic records management in a blockchain environment, introducing Ethereum smart contracts, IPFS, and ReactJS to redefine health record management. Using an interactive system on IPFS (interplanetary file system), it is possible for health organizations to load safe patient data. This is followed by several transfer transactions executed via Hardhat, from different addresses, to Ethereum blockchain. On the other hand, this has a dynamic record sharing facility. In this case, it allows institutions to work together while preserving their own organization’s security. For instance, patients have complete awareness of their own records, thus being able to monitor an entire record because it is controlled by the patient alone. This enhances continuity in trust between a patient and their physician. To discuss these points, this paper provides an elaboration on the transformation solution with several advantages, including enhanced security, better performance, and patient’s ability to control his or her own medical data. Likewise, the basis of this is the comparison of the speed at which data are retrieved and uploaded between the centralized Mongo DB system and the decentralized Pinata.
