Neurodegenerative disorders (NDs) are considered as the most prevalent disorder in the World with limited cure. Many factors are responsible as causative agent like age, life style, intrinsic factor and extrinsic factor. Inflammation is also one of the responsible factors for the onset of NDs. Commercial therapies are available but less effective and high cost. Therefore, researchers are working to dig out the easiest and budget friendly cure. Natural products retrieved from plants along with their primary and secondary metabolites have been utterly studied over the years to explore their therapeutic efficiency against neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and Huntington’s disease. Identification of major mechanisms of phytomolecules exerting their neuroprotective action are such as antioxidant, neuroinflammation, anti-apoptotic, antithrombotic, aging, and monoamine oxidase inhibition. This chapter focuses to investigate in-depth study of selection of phytoconstituents based on their strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential, suggesting high efficacy in preclinical alongside clinical studies. We further explained an overview of mechanism of action enrolled in NDs and their therapeutic potential.
