Polylactic acid (PLA) is a biobased polymer and has good biodegradability, biocompatibility, and fiber-forming capability. The PLA electrospun membranes have large specific surface area, tunable fiber diameter, and controllable porosity. Therefore, they are of great potential in biomedical researches, like tissue engineering, drug delivery, and wound dressing. In this review, the various applications of PLA electrospun membranes are summarized in details. Moreover, the existing problems and future perspective related to PLA electrospun membranes are presented.

摘要

Polylactic acid (PLA) is a biobased polymer and has good biodegradability, biocompatibility, and fiber-forming capability. The PLA electrospun membranes have large specific surface area, tunable fiber diameter, and controllable porosity. Therefore, they are of great potential in biomedical researches, like tissue engineering, drug delivery, and wound dressing. In this review, the various applications of PLA electrospun membranes are summarized in details. Moreover, the existing problems and future perspective related to PLA electrospun membranes are presented.
