Building Endurance: Designing and Managing Resilient Facilities for Urban Stability and Continuity
摘要
The infrastructure of any advanced city is anchored by resilient infrastructures, which are capable of withstanding disruptive events as well as adapting, recovering, and continuing to perform vital activities. Building infrastructure that can resist and recover from shocks is more important than ever as cities grow more complex and increasingly vulnerable to a variety of threats, from systemic failures like electricity shortages to natural disasters like earthquakes and floods. By incorporating readiness, redundancy, and intelligent responsiveness as fundamental design and operating concepts, the idea of resilience in urban facilities goes beyond conventional durability.
