Creative Freedom and Radical Research
摘要
This chapter extends the invitation of the work in this volume, to embody a meaningful ethic in social inquiry; a process that stabilises our shared responsibility for action and care, and lives in, through and around scholarly work. It openly recognises the generosity, creativity and felt engagement invested by those who take part in research, to honour multimodal contributions, to be present, to reimagine the established canon that persists in formulating knowledge, difference, disability, normativity, creativity, art and childhood. The chapter is a prosthetic that ushers the ableist vernacular, the accepted ways, the common sense, to draw inward and extend the felt, the (in)visible, the personal, as well as the pauses, the resistance that flourish and resonate when we interrupt our gaze, the silencing, the partial views, to connect as rhizomes do, as organic intellectuals, recognising that the significance of our work is bestowed in restoring connection, our shared humanness.
