Regulation of Transgenerational Toxicity by Transgenerational Communication of Germline Insulin Signals
摘要
Insulin signaling plays a central role in controlling pollutant toxicity in C. elegans. We here first discussed the role of transgenerational activation of germline insulin ligands, insulin receptor, and its downstream kinase cascade and inhibition in FOXO transcriptional factor DAF-16 in mediating transgenerational pollutant toxicity. Additionally, transgenerational communication between germline insulin ligands in pollutant-exposed nematodes and insulin receptor in the offspring was introduced. Moreover, the already identified targets for DAF-16 in regulating transgenerational pollutant toxicity, and their functions were introduced and discussed.
