Effect of Systematic Modifications of New and Worn Outsole Tread Patterns on the Friction
摘要
Various factors, such as the characteristics of the flooring surface, the material of the flooring, the composition of the shoe outsole, the tread pattern of the outsole, and the presence of slippery contaminants (like water or oil), as well as the wear on the outsole material, typically influence the coefficient of friction (COF) [1–3]. Specifically, the geometrical features of the treads play a vital role in determining the COF. Another significant factor contributing to high tire friction is the design of the tread.
