Research Findings from the Empirical Qualitative Investigation
摘要
Chapter 4 presented the quantitative survey results reported the teacher participants’ general views on their understanding and opportunities of ICT related PD training, as part of the government requirement for educational technology policies and masterplans. In this chapter, the interview data was transcribed verbatim, coded, analysed, and thematized to provide an in-depth understanding of the inquired phenomena. It helps to generate possible insights of the research problems that the quantitative data from the questionnaires cannot be appropriate. To be specific, teachers having their own voices in their own words to answer the questions about their experiences of previous training programs, their current ICT skills, experience, actual classroom applications, their needs, preferences of training modes and other emerged themes related to the development and implementation of a training program. At least three themes emerged from the research included (1) teachers’ experience of educational technological training, their ICT skills and needs; (2) teachers’ ICT skills application and current levels; and (3) diverse preferences for modalities and specific expectations from organizers and trainers. The results were presented in the form of tables or charts to make them more succinct. The analysis of findings shed light on trends of each of the priori and emerged themes.
