Construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and Cooperation Situation with Local Governments Along the Route
摘要
Since the inception of the Western Development Strategy, China’s western regions have made significant strides in economic and social development. However, compared to their eastern counterparts, they still grapple with substantial developmental challenges, stemming from their distance from seaports and underdeveloped infrastructure networks. Consequently, these regions must now redouble their efforts to overcome such regional disparities and explore new avenues for development. From 2017 to 2019, the “New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor” was designated, which aimed at bolstering economic and trade ties with Southeast Asian nations. The economic and regional benefits of the corridor economy will become more apparent as the construction of the corridor moves forward, propelling the growth of the provinces along its path and bolstering the general prosperity of China’s logistics industry.
