The Exit or Offboarding Phase
摘要
The offboarding phase (also known as exit management) of an employee is indeed the final phase, but nevertheless a highly decisive one in the employee journey. Offboarding has far-reaching effects on the remaining employees and on the company’s image. A structured and empathetic approach can not only minimize legal risks, but also help to turn departing employees into potential ambassadors for the company. This chapter therefore provides an in-depth presentation of the key elements of a modern offboarding process. These essentially include a differentiated view of the entire offboarding process, an explanation of the content and procedures of separation interviews, as well as a detailed discussion of alumni networks and why they are particularly important today. In addition, we provide best-practice examples, checklists, and examples for measurement using key figures and KPIs, as well as for collecting relevant data and information for this phase.
