The Pre-Boarding Phase
摘要
In this chapter, we address the specific characteristics of this very important first phase of the employee journey. We take an in-depth look at building close communication and initial relationships between new employees, their managers, and the team, in order to prevent early turnover at all costs. This primarily involves establishing a welcoming culture within the company and its departments, which can be fostered through extensive communication and invitations to initial team events or company functions even before the official first working day. Furthermore, we discuss the necessary measures for excellent preparation of the first working day and the subsequent onboarding phase. The implications regarding new work approaches, particularly communication with and integration of new employees who work remotely or from home, are also addressed in this chapter. Finally, we provide best-practice examples, checklists, and examples for measuring pre-boarding success.
