In the following chapter some of the key characteristics of Schubert’s musical language will be presented, acting as an introduction to the analysis section (IV). This will include some of the on-going debates in the Schubert’s research community on peculiarities of his musical language and the categorization of different creative periods. By doing so, the intention is to investigate what these elements could possibly say about his creative process and to establish the connection with the Jungian perspective.
