Patients with shoulder instability and additional rotator cuff tear are infrequent in clinical practice. However, rotator cuff tears in this situation significantly influence strategy and management of the shoulder instability treatment. Therefore, it is important to diagnose the associated lesions. The cuff tear may be concomitant with or pre-existing the dislocation. Both situations will influence repair and stabilization techniques. The therapeutic strategy depends mainly on the age and type and reparability of the lesion of the cuff.
