Physical Assessment in the Emergency Room, Safe Reduction, and Proper Examination in Outpatient Clinic
摘要
Clinical examination in the emergency room mainly consists of neurovascular assessment pre- and post-reduction. X-rays are mandatory before and after reduction to rule out fractures. A CT scan can be performed immediately if an articular fracture is suspected. History and patient characteristics should be carefully investigated in outpatient clinics. Clinical examination is important to confirm instability symptoms, but it must also include assessment of shoulder and generalized joint laxity.
