The following chapter examines the fundamental question of truth and its various theories. A distinction is made between realist and antirealist theories of truth: realist theories presuppose an objective reality and its correspondence, while antirealist theories reject this assumption and regard truth as a social construct. Deflationary theories view truth merely as a linguistic device and reject philosophical discussions about it. The three main positions are thus: deflationary, realist, and antirealist.

摘要

The following chapter examines the fundamental question of truth and its various theories. A distinction is made between realist and antirealist theories of truth: realist theories presuppose an objective reality and its correspondence, while antirealist theories reject this assumption and regard truth as a social construct. Deflationary theories view truth merely as a linguistic device and reject philosophical discussions about it. The three main positions are thus: deflationary, realist, and antirealist.
